Volunteering as a Servant!
BLESS USA is a holy and blessed service we offer to God Almighty personally. We
remember our Lord's words when He said: "For I was hungry and you gave
Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me
in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in
prison and you came to Me… Assuredly I say to you inasmuch as you did it to
one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me" (Matt 25:35-40).
BLESS USA is a wide-scoped service
that requires much work and many servants. The impact of the BLESS USA
service is one of great significance. As a servant at BLESS USA, one
dedicates a part of their life, but more importantly a part of their heart,
to the Brethren of the Lord (people in need). The BLESS USA service
will become a part of who you are not something you do.
As servants we strive to remember the following points:
Our Lord is the center of the
service, guiding our thoughts and actions through the work of His
Holy Spirit.
If we want to serve the Lord, we need to lead a life of sacrifice. Our Lord
says: "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose
it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it" Matt 16:24-25.
We are the representatives of
those in need and the advocates of the disadvantaged. Out of love, we
are committed to serving our brothers and sisters. The BLESS USA service
is a priority in our lives. People’s lives depend on it!
As servants we strive to be self-motivated, working very diligently and devoting
a lot of our time and effort to BLESS USA. Too many needy and impoverished
people depend on our service and commitment, thus there can be no room for
inconsistencies, or irresponsibility.
We serve outwardly on different
projects, but endeavor to serve internally with prayer, for without our
Lord, we "can do nothing," (John 15:5).
We strive to labor in secret remembering the words of our Lord that He said: "But
when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right
hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who
sees in secret will Himself reward you openly" Matt 6:3-4.
Although we "distribute to the needs
of the saints" (Rom 12:13), and "minister to them"
by collecting contributions (cf Rom 15:25-26), we do not raise funds.
Our priority is to spread the Bible’s message and the Church’s teachings
concerning Christian living: love, worship, offering, etc.
We must first give our hearts to the Lord before being able to properly give
anything else, (cf 2 Cor
8:4-5).
We pray that all servants hold
fast to the above and are confident that through the grace of God and
the work of His fiery Spirit, the service will be fruitful.
If you are interested in serving at BLESS USA,

older.
-
There is a mandatory monthly meeting
held at the Coptic Archdiocese in Cedar Grove, NJ.
