Focus on Results: Indicators of Success

The conceptual framework from which all CSLA programs are constructed begins with an outcome and a set of performance indicators likely to lead to its successful achievement. At the onset of each program, participants are acquainted with the outcome and indicators and general program activities involved. Participants begin to understand that they are accountable for making progress as evidenced by program performance assessments appropriate to each program.

Outcome

CSLA participants will engage others in creating an environment in which powerful learning is experienced by all learners, systematically and consistently.

CSLA Performance Indicators

As a result of full CSLA participation, educators will:

1.

Create an environment in which all individuals are able to articulate a vision of powerful learning, describe its characteristics, and cause the conditions that promote it.

2.

Use a standards-based accountability system to drive curriculum and instruction and measure student progress.

3.

Shape a culture in which norms, values, and beliefs manifest powerful learning.

4.

Build communication structures that support powerful learning.

5.

Mobilize relationships within the school to create a dynamic learning environment.

6.

Use systems thinking to continuously improve performance within the school.

7.

Create a diversity-sensitive environment grounded in multicultural and linguistic multiplicity which is intolerant of racism, sexism and exclusion.
