The Madera County Workforce Assistance
Center is a collaboration of ten Agencies
in the delivery of Employment & Training Services. The intent is to provide the
streamlining of employment & training services for both the job seeker and the
employer.
The Agencies housed in the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center will provide a range of services including: education, housing, training, job search assistance, employability and basic skills assessment, and employment opportunities. Employers will stand to have the greatest benefit with all the partners resources available to them.
California Department of Rehabilitation - The California Department of Rehabilitation, currently housed in the Employment Development Department office at 114 South A Street in Madera, will be joining other employment agencies in the new Madera County Workforce Assistance Center located at 209 E. 7th Street in Madera.
The department assists people with disabilities train for and obtain meaningful employment so they can lead independent lives in their communities.

Central Valley Opportunity Center - The Central Valley Opportunity Center (CVOC) provides alternative opportunities to enhance skills and education through grants from various funding sources. The opportunities that are available for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers (MSFW), JTPA qualified clients and Vocational Rehabilitation participants through CVOC are:
Classroom training in General Business Occupations, Cashiering, Medical, Cooking, Graphics, Printing, Automotive and Welding. Placement through On-The-Job Training agreements, food vouchers, rental and utility assistance, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and GED preparation.
CVOC also provides scholarships to graduating high school students in Madera, Merced and Stanislaus counties, and during the holiday season, food baskets are distributed to 100 needy families in Madera County, 200 in Merced County and 500 in Stanislaus County.

Housing Authority of the City of Madera - The Housing Authority of the City of Madera desires to be an integral component of the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center by improving client access, agency collaboration and paving the way for clients to receive identified employment services. The Madera County Workforce Assistance Center will allow immediate referral of Housing Authority clients to employment related services including job search, job training, basic education, vocational training, and secondary educational programs. The Housing Authority proposes that staff will be stationed at the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center to facilitate client referrals and client access to employment related services. Collaboration between agencies will be enhanced, thus improving services to mutual clients. Clients will be able to meet with Housing Authority staff, be referred for vocational training, and make contact with the vocational provider the same day without leaving the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center. The Housing Authority along with its Board of Commissioners and its Advisory Board are committed to assisting families in becoming employed, increasing earned income and achieving independence from public assistance and thereby becoming a contributing resident of the local economy.
Madera County Office of Education - The Madera County Office of Education is one of 58 county offices of education which form the intermediate level of the California Public education system. The Madera County Office of Education serves as an essential resource, service, and support agency for the eleven school districts and a variety of government agencies in Madera County. The Madera County office of Education actively participates in the regional service delivery system established by the California County Superintendents of Schools Educational Services Association.
Madera County Private Industry Council - The Madera County Private Industry Council operates programs for both adult and youth facing serious barriers to employment. We will provide an array of services for individuals who are interested in training or would like to upgrade their current skills.
Employer services will include customized training, recruitment, screening, facilities for interviewing of potential employees. Employers may access the most current local labor market information for Madera County.
Services offered will be: program orientation, basic skills assessment, On-the-Job Training, occupational training, youth services, and career development seminars. These services are aimed at providing participants and employers the optimum potential for a job match.
Madera Employment Development Department - The Madera Employment Development Department provides Job Service and Unemployment Insurance programs to eligible individuals through statewide network of sites. our Job Service mission is to:
Facilitate the filling of employers vacancies by facilitating the match with job seekers. |

Provide job search services for job seekers. |

Provide labor market information to employers, job seekers, and others including policy makers, economic developers, economists, and planners. |
Madera County Department of Social Services - The Madera County Department of Social Services Employment and Training Staff assigned to the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center will offer customers the full range of CalWORKS services: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medi-Cal, Food Stamps, child care, transportation, counseling, and follow-up services. The primary responsibility of the Employment and Training Staff will be to provide case management and supportive services to TANF recipients being referred to or currently served by one or more of the other partners, in the capacity of a needs assessment, job club, education, training, job placement, and job retention.
Madera Community College Center
Madera Unified School District-Adult Education - Madera Adult School forms a partnership with the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center to provide up to date information on the availability of educational courses, services, programs and activities available to students at our Adult Education campus and satellites. An adult Education representative will be available to provide continuity of educational opportunities for clients being served through the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center.
