Select Chooser from the Apple Menu.
Click AppleShare (AppleTalk must be active).
Double click HEPSERVER.
In the "Connect to..." dialog box click Guest then OK
In the HEPSERVER dialog box highlight Microsoft UAM Volume by clicking on it (this might be highlighted by default), click OK.
A "Welcome to server" box will appear, click OK and close Chooser. A folder named Microsoft UAM Volume will also show up on the desktop. Open this folder and copy the AppleShare folder inside to your System Folder then delete the folder from your desktop. Note: If the Macintosh workstation already has an AppleShare Folder in the System Folder, you should not overwrite it because it may contain other user authentication modules (UAMs), such as the NetWare UAM. If you want to maintain the files in the original AppleShare Folder, simply drag the MS UAM file to it.
This is a good time to open the AppleShare folder that was just copied to the System Folder and read the ReadME.UAM file for important information about file sharing. This file can be opened with any text editor.
Now select the Chooser again (you did close it right?!), then AppleShare, then HEPSERVER.
In the next dialog box click on Microsoft Authentication to highlight it then click OK.
In the "Connect to..." box login as a registered user with the user name and password provided. Guest users do not have access to shared Mac resources.
In the HEPSERVER dialog box highlight the volume that you would like access to and click OK.
Click OK in the Welcome box. A Mac Users Icon that looks
like this
now appears
on your desktop. This is the Mac Users folder on the server. Follow
this link to get more info on usage.
