TBL&R is one of the research laboratories for Educational Media
and Computers, a program in the College of Education's
Division of Curriculum and Instruction.
The area prepares specialists in the design, production, and
utilization of media and computer applications for use in a
wide range of educational settings.
Graduates of the program are employed as teachers in public schools,
colleges, and universities and as program coordinators, production
specialists, project directors, and trainers in business, govern-
ment and military organizations. The program currently has grants
totalling over $2 million, which are funding research in inter-
active multimedia mathematics as well as other technology based
education projects. Several companies involved in the production
of media and computer-based instruction in the Southwest make
their facilities available to EMC students enrolled in internship
and practicum courses.
EMC, in partnership with the Intel Corporation, developed a
Multimedia CD-ROM consisting of several instructional modules
that teach creative and effective designs and dynamic presentations.
