About ClairantClairant was established to address the unique marketing requirements of high technology companies in the Silicon Valley. Conveniently located halfway between San Francisco and San Jose, Clairant is prepared to meet with your company whether it be a start-up or an established leader. Clairant's President and primary consultant is Marc Allard. Mr. Allard most recently served as Director of Marketing and Asia Pacific Sales for Ultrapointe Corporation, a manufacturer of semiconductor capital equipment. Mr. Allard joined Ultrapointe as a start-up and directed its market strategy to become the leader in advanced defect review stations. He also had full responsibility for the company's successful sales penetration into Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand. The company was sold to KLA-Tencor Corporation in January of 1999. Mr. Allard has also worked for SGI (Silicon Graphics, Inc.), HPL, and KLA Instruments (now KLA-Tencor) in the roles of senior manufacturing engineer, mechanical design engineer, process quality engineer, and director of sales (not respectively). Mr. Allard has first-hand experience in marketing, sales, international business, engineering, manufacturing, and customer support. Mr. Allard has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cal-Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California, and he studied one year at the prestigious Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Allard speaks Japanese and has extensive business experience throughout Asia.
