   Elna McIntosh is Elna_mac5the director of DISA Health Care which was established in 1988 as a Sexual and Reproductive health clinic. She is a qualified clinical sexologist, currently busy with her PhD in Human Sexuality .She is a member of the American Association of Sex  Educators, Counsellors and Therapists (AASECT), and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS).

   As a sexologist she specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of male and female sexual disorders:

  • Loss of sexual desire
  • Sexual addiction and compulsive sexual behaviour
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Ejaculation control and timing
  • Women's inability to orgasm
  • Vaginismus
  • Dyspareunia
  • Healing with sexual abuse, exploitation and trauma
  • Transgender (m2f or f2m)
  • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender coming out issues
  • Sexuality and the physically disabled, post infarction, ostomy patients, post mastectomy
  • Sexual concerns related to infertility
  • Safer sex for HIV positive patients and HIV/AIDS issues and counseling

   She is active in providing continuing medical education and widely lecture to both professional and lay groups. Topics range from safer sex, AIDS education, sexuality, breast awareness, sex during pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

   Her goals are:

  • HIV prevention and Safer sex
  • STD awareness and the correct treatment for STD's
  • Expanding orgasmic potential
  • The fulfillment of sexuality
  • Enhancing communication
  • Sexual dysfunction symptom reversal

   She has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro twice, run the Comrades marathon x 5, Ironman Triathlon – Gold medal winner, Durban Ultra Canoe Triathlon - 1st Lady, Argus cycle x 6. She is currently training for the Dusi Canoe Marathon.    

   She lives and work in Sandton, Johannesburg.
