U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).   HHS is the U.S. Government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and for providing essential human services. Leadership and support are provided by the Office of the Secretary. DHHS headquarters is in the Hubert H. Humphrey Building located at 200 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC 20201.
    
HHS Assistant Secretary for Legislation.   This site provides HHS communications with Congress from 1996 to the present, as well as searchable databases of congressional testimony since 1992, HHS Bill Reports, HHS Press Releases, and Recent Laws and Executive Orders pertaining to HHS. In addition, House and Senate testimonies with regard to HHS funding are available.
    
National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH is the world's premier medical research organization, supporting some 30,000 research projects nationwide in diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes, arthritis, heart ailments, and AIDS. In addition to its separate research institutes, NIH includes the National Library of Medicine, the Clinical Center (a combined research hospital and laboratory complex), the National Center for Research Resources, and the John E. Fogarty International Center for Advanced Study in the Health Sciences.
