
The primary responsibility
of the Board of Education is to establish educational policies and select
a Superintendent of Schools.
The Board shall
be composed of five (5) members, residents of the District, who shall be
elected for a term of four (4) years from March 1st succeeding their election.
Board of Education Goals
1. Develop a culture of self respect and respect for each other utilizing the diversity of Santa Fe Public Schools community.
2. Ensure that each student demonstrates mastery of academic and technological literacy and exhibit effective social skills.
3. Make Santa Fe Public Schools the center of our community through increased support for youth and families.
4. Provide our students safe, disciplined, and nurturing learning environments.
5. Reduce the student drop-out rate.
6. Improve process and procedures associated with financial and asset management.
7. Broaden the funding
base and increase resources for the Santa Fe Public Schools.

Regular Meetings
begin at 7:00 PM in the Educational Services Center Boardroom with Executive
Sessions beginning at 6:00 PM. Agendas are available 24 hrs. prior
to meetings in the Board of Education Office located at 610 Alta Vista
Street. For more information, please call 954-2001.
The Board holds Study Session on a regular basis to received information
regarding special projects and programs and the community is encourages
to attend.
How You Can Participate
Public Participation at Board Meetings is welcomed. Public comments provide the Board with new insights and fresh ideas.
The public
may address the Board at its Regular Meetings during a segment called "Public
Forum". Community members may sign up prior to the Board Meeting
if they wish to address the Board. The Board requests that
comments be limited to four minutes.
