The Madera County Office of Education staff seek opportunities
to deliver services that are responsive to the needs of students,
parents, school districts, agencies and the community.

The Madera County Office of Education serves as an essential resource, service
and support agency for the eleven school districts and a variety of government
agencies in Madera County.  The Madera County Office of Education actively
participates in the regional service delivery system established by the California
County Superintendents of Schools Educational Services Association.

The county superintendent is responsible for examining and approving school
district budgets.  The County staff provides leadership and helps formulate new
curriculum, staff development and training programs.  It designs business,
                personnel, and data processing systems.

In December of 1997, the California State Board of Education approved the
reorganization proposal for the formation of a new school district in the Madera
Ranchos area.  The proposal was placed on the June 2, 1998, ballot.  On June
17, 1998, the Golden Valley Unified School District, Board of Trustees were
administered the oath of office and the first official meeting was held.

The accomplishments of the Madera County Office of Education serve as a
tribute to the outstanding and dedicated efforts of the staff.  This unique group
of individuals constantly strive to provide quality service for our many publics.
