What's Unique About Us

Samaritan’s Purse is a nonprofit Christian mission organization with a single-minded commitment to evangelism. We meet critical needs among hurting people for one ultimate purpose: so that men and women will come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our ministry is rooted in Scripture and based on the Biblical story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).

Many of those aided by Samaritan’s Purse live in “hot spots” around the world—places like Bosnia, Romania, Sudan, India, and Lebanon that are torn by war, famine, disease, and natural disaster. Our assistance helps alleviate suffering and earn a hearing for the Gospel.

The needs we meet are as diverse as the people we encounter along life’s road. Food, clothing, shelter, medical care . . . freshwater wells and agricultural equipment . . . Bibles, Christian literature, and transportation for national church workers—these and other essentials are given by Samaritan’s Purse to further the work of world evangelization.

We specialize in responding quickly, efficiently, and without a lot of red tape or bureaucratic delays.

Founded in 1970 by the late Dr. Bob Pierce and now led by Franklin Graham, we are a link between concerned believers and needy people around the world, for the glory of Jesus Christ.
