World-renowned for motherboards of unsurpassed quality and reliability, ASUS has
once again fulfilled its expectations with an entire series of motherboards based on the Intel 820 chipset, as well as the most complete set of
Socket 370 motherboards with support for the new Intel
FC-PGA Coppermine processor. A product that will
be attracting a great deal of attention will be the FlexATX form factor CUWE-FX motherboard, designed for
small-sized easy-to-use PCs.Notebook PCs
In addition to the impressive line of motherboards, ASUS will also be showcasing
three notebook PCs with unparalleled features and technologies: ASUS L8400 Series, ASUS
M8000 Series, and ASUS L7000 Series. The L8400 Series combines the fastest hardware components, the most reliable motherboard design,
and a state-of-the-art thermal handling structure into one slim All-in-One system - the year 2000 standard!
If your mobile computing and communication needs require the best performance and portability, then the M8000
Series is for you. The ASUS PortBarTM facilitates system peripheral connectivity with the least bulk and weight
that a standard replicator while the PortDockTM allows the connection of four types of storage devices to the
system-at once. PortDockTM simplifies data backup and allows drive sharing between two systems and for music
lovers, it has its own power amplifier and stereo speakers that together work as a stand-alone CD player when
the system is off.
The L7000 Series is the most compact 13.3" Pentium II notebook that does not compromise on performance. The
L7000 provides a complete built-in solution to computing needs comparable to desktops but without the wiring
hassles.Video Cards
The AGP-V6600PRO, the world's first 64MB AGP Pro GeForce card, will also be on display at CeBIT. This card is
designed for both hardcore gamers and home video editors alike. Featuring Smart Doctor technologies-a
proprietary design by ASUS-for the best system protection; a Smart Video Suite with the most complete set of
video tools; and Smart VR, this card leaves the competition in the dust. The AGP-V6600PRO is the latest of
the award-winning AGP-V6600 Series of cards from ASUS, which has been dubbed by enthusiasts and reviewers as
the Rolls Royce and Ferrari of the GeForce cards.CD/DVD-ROM Drives
ASUS will also introduce the latest additions to its line of high-speed CD-ROM and
DVD-ROM drives. The ASUS 8X DVD-ROM drive not only runs fast but also extremely smooth. This is achieved through
the use of DDSS II (Double Dynamic Suspension System II), an anti-vibration architecture by ASUS that reduces
vibration so that the drive's pick-up head can access data with optimum stability and accuracy. As with all
ASUS CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives, this latest offering from ASUS also features the Smart CD-Speed Suite, which
allows users to change the speed either manually or automatically for optimal performance.Cable Modem
ASUS will launch two affordable high quality broadband solutions and services to
the cable network: the ASUS ACM-6000EB, an external two-way MCNS DOCSIS 1.0 compliant cable modem with a
10/100 Base-T or USB port; and the ASUS ACM-6000PC, an internal PCI cable modem card.ADSL Modem ASUS will also unveil an ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) modem for interactive, high-speed internet, intranets, telecommuting and remote LAN access. ADSL offers speeds unheard of on normal twisted copper loops with speeds of up to 8Mbps (downlink) and 800Kbps (uplink). Server / Desktop Solutions
Also on display will be two Dual Pentium III RCC barebone servers, the ASUS AP2300
and the ASUS AP6300. Both support the new generation of Pentium III Coppermine processors with 133 Front Side
Bus (FSB) technology and the latest RCC Champion chipset. These high performing servers will be launched
delivering and supporting 64-bit/66MHz PCI technology, 133MHz Front Side Bus, PC-133 SDRAM interface up to
