SAN FRANCISCO, December 1, 2000 - Solidifying its position
as a leading provider of sell-side e-business applications, Intershop
Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISHP; Neuer Markt: ISH) has received
top marks from Forrester Research, Inc. (NASDAQ: FORR) for its flagship
product, Enfinity. Forrester's recently announced eBusiness TechRankings
places Intershop first among commerce platforms.
Forrester's eBusiness TechRankings contains detailed, objective
research to help companies select and implement the best technology
for their eBusiness initiatives. eBusiness TechRankings' continuous
research combines product testing results and market analysis to
help firms understand rapidly changing technology markets, accelerate
and improve product selection, and effectively gauge implementation
costs and effort.
According to Forrester's analysis, "Intershop's Enfinity 1.1 offers
rich commerce functionality, especially with order processing and
marketing. The vendor bundles a powerful analysis engine (Cognos)
and provides free adapters to personalization software (Net Perceptions
and Autonomy). Enfinity's underlying application server gives it
topnotch database connection pooling and transaction management."
Since Forrester's evaluation of the Intershop Enfinity 1.1 product,
Intershop has released Enfinity 2. This latest version of the product
offers even greater performance and scalability, and more pre-packaged
integrations that connect Enfinity to marketplaces and business
systems, such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and Siebel. Enfinity 2
is expected to be evaluated by Forrester Research in 2001.
"We've long believed that Intershop Enfinity is the best sell-side
e-commerce platform on the market today, and this recent analyst
ranking offers further validation of our belief," said Stephan Schambach,
CEO of Intershop Communications. "Enfinity helps businesses effectively
manage and exploit multiple sales channels - and we're getting lots
of positive feedback as more and more of our customers reap the
rewards generated from our solution."
About Forrester's TechRankings Methodology
Forrester's eBusiness TechRankings methodology is open, rigorous,
and unbiased. TechRankings combines the results of hands-on lab
tests, strategic market analysis, and in-depth research into the
needs of technology users. Forrester does not charge vendors in
any way to participate in TechRankings, and it tests and analyzes
all products in a given category using identical, publicly available
criteria. Forrester extensively checks and verifies results and
updates the research and rankings monthly.
