LIFE IN OUR SCHOOL
| The Secondary Technical School in Myjava is four-year boarding school for students aged 14 – 18 years. |
| The condition of entering this school is the written entrance examination in Slovak and mathematics. |
| Having become students of STS Myjava we could chose our specialisation from this four following possibilities:. |
| 1. ENGENEERING INDUSTRY - graphic systems | ||
| - technical management |

| - machine building | ||
| 2. ELECTRICAL ENGENEERING - electroenergetics |
| - informatics and telecommunications |
| 3. TECHNICAL AND INFORMATICS SERVICES 4. MECHATRONICS We learn both compulsory and elective subjects. |

| GENERAL SUBJECTS include: |
| Slovak language, two foreign languages /English, French,German,Spanish/, civics, history, ethic or religion education, mathematics, physics, chemistry, ecology, geography. |
PHYSICAL TRAINING
SPECIAL SUBJECTS in accordance with special orientation: |
| technical drawing, mechanics, informatics, engeneering, electronics, economy, legal study, practice, graphic systems, telecommunication and computer network, automation technics. |
| The academic year begins after the summer holiday the 2 nd September / the 1 st September is Constitution Day/ and it is divided into two terms: |
| September – January | ||
| February – June |
| with the interval between them formed by mid-term holiday.Apart from this holiday we have: |
| two days´ autumn holiday in November | |
| two weeks´ winter holiday in December | |
| one week´s spring holiday in February | |
| two months´ Summer holiday |
| Classes in our school begin at 8.10 a.m. and usually end at 15.20 p.m.. One course lasts 45 minutes, break takes 5 or 10 minutes and the “big” one takes 15 minutes /at 10.05/. |
| The average number of students in a class is 30, but it varies. |
Out-of-school activities are very important at our school: we are sport – loving boys and girls, volleyball about all. Most of us takes dancing lessons, Internet lessons. Elder classmates publish school newspaper called STROJAR / The Machine Builder / and we have also our own radiobroadcasting at school. We are lovers of travelling – we have visited France, Italy, Germany, Greece.
There si so much to speak about : memorable moments of our Immatriculation parties, when the first class students are accepted to the student “guild” , of our “ green ribbon parties “ - more jolly part of the closing fourth class, etc.
The study at STS finish with the school leaving examination that is taken in this subjects:
Having finish study on Secondary Technical School, our school-leaves are acquainted with work in factories, offices or qualified for university studies / Technical University, Economical and others Universities/.
