BALLOONING
Tom Hamilton is a commerical pilot with
ratings in helicopters and hot air balloons. Hamilton has been
flying since 1970, organized fourteen hot air balloon safety seminars
since 1983 and been a featured speaker at many more. In 1985 he
founded Balloon Life Magazine, the leading source for information
about ballooning in the United States covering the sport of ballooning
in-depth. Each issue contains techincal/educational articles and
there is an Annual Balloon Buyer's Guide of all U.S. certificated
balloon manufacturers.

Gary Rominger has been chasing balloons
since first attending the Reno Balloon Race in 1984. A BFA certified

Bruce Conway has a commercial license w/CFII rating, flying since 1978, about 1200 hrs total time
(probably 3/4 of that in his own airplane, a Piper Warrior.) He
has a Ph. D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford (1980)
and has been teaching at U of Illinois at Urbana since then. Bruce
teaches mostly courses related to spaceflight but occasionally

HANG GLIDING
Bob Mackey started flying hanggliders
in 1982 and got serious in 1986. Since then he has flown about
1500 hours in a wide range of conditions. His longest flight was
in 1990 in the Owens Valley: 195 miles in 8.5 hours. The same
year, he won the Chelan XC Classic, and took second at the Colorado
Regionals. Bob has flown in the Nationals twice, placing middle
of the pack both times. For the last six years, he has been participating
in the hang gliding discussion group on the Internet, and edited
the most recent version of the FAQ. Presently he is trying to
complete my Ph.D. in Materials Science.

Rob Erdos is an experimental test pilot
and graduate of the US Naval Test Piloting School. He has a degree
in Mechanical Engineering, and holds both fixed-wing and helicopter
Air Transport Licences. He recieved his wings in the Canadian
Air Force, and flew operationally as a Search and Rescue Pilot,
followed by a tour as an engineer test pilot with the Aerospace
Engineering Test Establishment, in Cold Lake, Alberta. He is now
