Fallbrook
Union High School District encompasses 310 square miles in northern San Diego
County. This area includes the
villages of Fallbrook, Rainbow, and Bonsall, the Pala Indian Reservation, a
portion of the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton, and the Fallbrook Naval
Weapons Station. The total
population of the area is approximately 45,000.
The setting is primarily rural and the areas major occupations are
farming and its allied services, military and civilian government work and small
business. The
district serves approximately 2825 students with one comprehensive high school,
Fallbrook High, and two alternative schools, Ivy and Oasis High Schools.
The student population is approximately 33% Hispanic, 2% Native American,
2% African American, 2% Asian, 1% Filipino, and 57% Caucasian.
As identified by free and reduced lunch eligibility, the district is 36%
low income, as well as 18% Limited English Proficient, with 7% of the students
identified migrant. District
support consists of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Business
Services, Director of Curriculum and Assessment, Director of Student Services
and Categorical Programs, Director of Technology, Performing Arts Center
Director, District Accountant, nine (9) support staff, and a district
Psychologist.
