yes we can... and i just did it.. What's so hard about getting a secure unix system by compiling stuff yourself
and disabling unused services... who on earth uses stuff like finger anyways? go download a decent
unix distribution like OpenBSD.. only a few [5 orso] exploits found in a few years...
