The Eggs are where the programmer has hidden fun, silly stuff, and her credits. They are meant to be found.

Windows95 Eggs

The responsible parties:

Click on any open area on your desktop using the right mouse button. From the menu, select New, then Folder. In the folder's name field, type the following exactly:

and now, the moment you've all been waiting for

Press Enter
Right click the folder again, select Rename, type the following exactly:

Press Enter
Right click the folder one more time, select Rename, type the following exactly:

Press Enter
Now double click the folder. Ta Da!

3D Screensaver (works in Windows98 also)

Right click a blank spot on your desktop. Click Properties Click the Screen Saver tab From the Screen Saver drop down menu choose, 3D Text. Click the Settings button. In the text box type the word volcano. Click OK. The screen saver will now display a list of volcanoes from around the world.

The ones who did it:

In the Windows folder go to Application Data\Microsoft\WELCOME
Right click the file WELDATA.EXE and click Create Shortcut
Right click the newly created shortcut and select Properties
In the shortcut tab, add the following at the end of the "Target" edit box You_are_a_real_rascal.
Now in the "Run" box select Minimized - Click OK
double click the shortcut & ENJOY!

Start Button fun:
Windows98:

Click the Start button and select Programs > Accessories.
Right Click Calculator and select Properties.
Click Change Icon... button and then select the same icon. (Double Click it) Click Ok
Click the Start button again. (wait for tool tip to disappear)
A small down arrow will appear allowing you to scroll the Shut Down... menu. Notice the new item Eject PC *smile*
(sometimes you have to repeat the steps a few times before the down arrow will appear)

Press the Control, Alt and F keys on your keyboard all at once. FishCam!

MS Interner Explorer
This is one of my favorites:

Select Help from the menu bar and click on About Internet Explorer.

Hold down the Control key and drag the e logo onto the Earth icon.

Release the Control key, then press and hold it down again. Drag the e over the Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 text. The text slides off to the right, revealing an unlock button. Still holding down the control key, move the e Logo back over the world, and release it. Roll the credits!

It's an opinion:

Open Word97 and type I'd like Bill Clinton to resign. Highlight the sentence and press Shift + F7.

Now try this one:

type Unable to follow directions. Highlight the sentence and press Shift + F7.
