The Children's Place contracts
with local licensed professional therapists to provide therapy in cases
where there is no other source for payment and the child meets the criteria set forth by
the center. Support Groups for Non-Offending Parents and survivors of sexual abuse are also available. Support Groups are designed to run for 10 weeks and be held at the center. Some of the topics addressed include guilt, blame, isolation, victimization, empowerment, values, attitudes, trust, self esteem, family roles and open communication. Main sources of funding: local contributions, state appropriation, and United Way of Central Alabama.
