Foreign
language can land a person a very high paying job, such as an interpreter, FBI agent, or a
teacher. The most important and major foreign language is Spanish. Mrs. Bata
is the Spanish teacher from Cavalier, teaching in area schools such as Cavalier, Park
River, Neche, Pembina, St. Thomas, Valley, and Walhalla, over the ITV system. Her
morning is spent teaching Cavalier and her afternoon is spent in Park River. Spanish
I, II, and III are taught in these classes and there are usually two class periods offered
per class.
Mrs. Bata also takes
Spanish I and II students on a class trip to Spain. This year the students left in
November. They spent ten days in different areas of Spain, from Madrid to Toledo
Barcelona and a few cities in between. Mrs. Bata commented that the group of
students that went this year were one of the best.
