Eq1.jpg (5315 bytes) The weight-lifting facilities used in Cavalier High School are designed to increase muscle mass and assist athletes as they train for sports. Mr. Oksendahl teaches physical education for grades 1 through 12. In the lower grades he works on activities that lead to fine motor skill development. In the middle grades he gets into more team activities and students learn to play together as a team. In the upper grades he emphasises life-long fitness.

There is also a weight lifting class in his schedule. In the weight-lifting class he likes to use the "Bigger, Faster, Stronger Program." He has modified the program to fit Cavalier facilities and equipment.

Mr. Oksendahl also teaches a health class where students learn the benefits of fitness. This class offers CPR training where people from the ambulance service show how to do CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. So you learn quite a bit in this class.
