Sputnik Mod Update

Sputnik Satellite has put out the exciting version two of his very impressive weapon mod. This update allows for 23,....thats right 23 weapons that look like they should in the game. I urge you to get this update.!.Sputnik Update - simply unzip in your RS folder.

Here are a couple of new mods, one adds more blood into the mix.........Blood Modification - Modify's those lil holes the red colored stuff comes out of.NATO SPO 2.1 - Upgrade for the previous model, allows for an increase in rounds, magazines and so on to weapons.

Opposing Forces Still Shines!

Opposing Forces the well received Add-on to "The Game of the Year: Half-Life ", is still being recognized by several magazines and gaming sites as a hit. PC Gamer Magazine just named it game of the month, an honor in itself, as well as the fact that they never name expansion packs as games of the month. If you haven't played this game yet, I strongly recommend you start now. Half-Life is probably the best game I have ever played to date, because of the rich storyline and gameplay I chained myself to my PC until I finished it. Opposing Forces did the same late night damage, this time from the other perspective at Black Mesa. Starting from boot camp onto the opening sequence where your chopper is shot down and you are dragged to safety by a medic ( only to keep blacking out ) was outstanding. Opposing Forces delivers!

Urban Chaos Demo

Just in case you haven't heard about the new Eidos project Urban Chaos, here's your wake up call. You play a rookie cop that gets to drive cars ( sometime over people ), do 007 like moves, and still make it to the doughnut shop in time. The engine is new, the storyline a few months shy, but it makes up for it in gameplay and visuals. You can get the demo here, fill out the form and nab the download.

RS Database : Armpatch Bonaza!

Nighteye has released almost 500 armpatches for your pleasure at The Rogue Spear Database. Even though 99% of the time I play with my TAC patch, I found a few really funny ones that I couldn't help but get. You can also install them easily by following the instructions he has laid out for you. Just remeber not to go overboard, RS only allows 20 armpatches in at once which means you may need to overwrite some of them. Download by clicking here and read how to install here . Is There A Future In S.H. RPG?

I spent this weekend looking for answers to the Superhero RPG crusade I started out on a week ago. Unfortunatly I did not get a scrap of hope for the Superhero genre. Out of all of the people that I wrote to, the only one to respond was from Mr. Brian Clair ( pulisher of the Avault ), who had the information I needed and was very helpful. It seems the two games that were scheduled for release are dead and buried, The Indestructibles by Bullfrog, and Microproses Agents of Justice ( Picture ) were abandoned do to similar ill-fated circumstances. As Mr. Clair points out, " Publishers don't feel a game based in this area would make any money - at least not enough to offset the cost of development or turn a profit and 2) Developers who don't just ignore the creation of a game in this genre based off #1 may simply feel that they couldn't do an adequate job of it." I tried Bullfrog and Microprose but I have not recieved a response. Both games looks impressive, especially Agents of Justice which you can read about here , hopefully there is a gaming company out there that will read this and pick up on the project. Thank you to the Avault for all their help.

Mortyr Demo & Review

Mortyr is a 3rd person shooter with an interesting story, and not so bad gameplay. Basically the Nazis Won WW2 with the help of a time machine. you are part of an underground group trying to set things straight. You are to be sent back in time and destroy the time machine, but these things never work out right? The gamplay is nice, but the graphics lack what is needed in todays market. Here is the demo. Awesome Weapons Mod

This is a MUST DOWNLOAD, Sputnik Satellite has put together the best weapons mod I have ever seen. The skins on 10 guns have been changed to look like the real thing. Tactical Advantage will defintly test this mod out. Just look at the picture of the M-60. The only probelm that has been seen in testing is the grenade launcher when fired too rapidly will eject the player from the game. This mod was so awesome I had to give it it's own slot.Sputnik's Weapons Mod -

The Tactical Advantage Team does try to test out mods once in a while for fun ( never for practice ), but we can't try out every single mod. So mods may not do what they say they do. TAC Paintball Weekend in the Works
-
Swat God and I spoke today and the conversation lead to paintball. He mentioned there were many fields near his house, this spawned an idea. I thought it would be a blast if we had as many Team TAC members, as well as any other gamers out there, together for some paintball in Colorado. Colorado is central and it has beautiful country to play on. I am arranging a deal with an old friend of mine who owns a paintball store. You will soon see his link on this page, I am planning on buying paintballs from him, enough for all who decide to come, so you will not have to worry about that expense. I wish I could afford to pay for everyone's entire trip but that is just not possible. The get-together will be this summer but the date is not yet decided upon. Since we are planning so far ahead the plane tickets should be fairly inexpensive. I am assuming the total cost for the plane, hotel, food, and paintball will be less than $500. So if you are interested please email me at roblee@tampabay.rr.com and I will email you back as soon as I get more information, I will also be posting updates on the page.

We Need A Hero!

Just this weekend the makers of the Mission Impossible game canned the project. Recently game projects are being dumped more than released. Now, i'd rather have a complete game than a company pumping out garbage, but PUT OUT A GOOD GAME! My real gripe is a very popular one. For quite some time now the gamers have been waiting for a good SuperHero game to emerge, yet no one has answered the call. A while back many RPG's were eagerly awaiting the release of several Superhero games ( sorry the names escape me but one was quite good, an x-com engine with character generation ), but all were abandoned. The Market is there, a simple case of supply and demand. I'm going to start asking companys and try to get to the bottom of this and see if we can get the ball rolling on a good Superhero Game. If anyone has any leads or help or wants to join in this crusade please let me know.

A TAC Weekend

This weekend I flew to Houston, as did Witness and J.R. of team TAC. We were in a small town called Tomball and after hanging out at Night Death's Bowling alley we decided to try something new. We went to play some laser tag...we wanted to play paintball but it was raining. The laser tag place also had a LAN, we were fortunante enough to play some Rainbow Six for a bit before we jumped into the laser games. I did take some pictures and if they come out good I will scan some and post them.

Outcast Demo

Even though this game has been out for quite some time, a lot of people have never heard of it. Outcast puts you in the role of a futuristic Navy S.E.A.L., who has to protect a group of scientists through a black hole that is sucking the world in. Things get weird once you are sucked inside, but what a ride! This game's visuals are awesome, the weapons and items are even better. The best thing you can do is play the demo then go out and buy the game. You can grab the demo here.

Arcanum : Sierra's RPG

I was talking to Weasel the other day, and he had told me about a game coming out, an RPG that sounded quite promising. As a fan of Fallout and Baulder's Gate I was intrigued and decided to search for more information. I don't know if this was the game Weas, but if not ya gotta check this out. It's called Arcanum, made by the people of Fallout and Fallout II this game mixes D&D characters with a twist. Science and Sorcery are the key in this game, one could choose a musket, or a magical Bow. Sierra and new comers Troika Games worked on character building from their regular set-up ( much like the fav. Fallout ), including over 80 spells to learn and much more. So far this looks like the best RPG idea for 2000.

Sneak Preview of Hitman

Eidos has been working with new comers IO Interactive on a new game called Hitman Codename: 47. The game will play in either a 1st or 3rd person view, and run much like Thief did. In some missions one will have to go through a series of other missions first to find escape routes and weapons and intel. This looks like a game that a lot of people have been waiting for, though no approximate date has be set for a release I am hoping that both companies will stand strong and deliver this game to the gaming community.

I have seen a few people use cheats like throwing grenades longer distances, wrong ammo for weapons, more ammo, and other cheats also. Be sure to read this so you can spot those people who feel they need to cheat to win.

Quake III FAQ Released

John Carmack has been working hard to test Q3, and to make a FAQ to answers as many bugs as possible. The FAQ can be found here, at the current Q3 site. Carmack, after playing on a 28.8 modem stated that a player with skills could destroy other players regardless of speed.
