New Rogue Spear Shots! -

Operation Urban Assault Needs Help -
Half-life's upcoming mod, operations Urban Assault, needs more workers. If I knew how to do what was needed I would be proud to be on the team, but II'm jut a lonely news guy. Anyway, here are the positions needing to be filled.
Model Animator. Applicant must have an In depth knowledge of 3DS MAX and Character studio, and be knowledgeable of how to handle animating In the Half-life engine.
Level Builder. Applicant must have previous work In mapping for Quake engine games, and must be knowledgeable In the usage of Worldcraft. Application must also be accustom to building city like worlds.

I know It's been out for a whIle but I just got It and I happen to really lIke It! SoldIer of Fortune Is goIng to be awesome. It has 26 gore zones on the enemIes whIch means If you shoot them In the head theIr head blows off and If you shoot them In the leg It wIll eIther blow off or kIck out dIsablIng hIm from walkIng. Team Fortress 2 Release Dates -
Okay, well I'm not sure If any of you guys follow TF2 or or those types of games but I do myself and sInce It Is a team based realIstIc game Its worthy of the sIte. Anyway, the release date was gIven out by Happy Puppy for January 15, 2000, but I am hear all kInds of contradIctIng statements. Here Is the most relevant one from Planet Fortress:
eh there, TF2 wIll be out In bah bah bah. Ok, here Is the deal. Don't belIeve what store says when TF2 wIll be out. The only thIng they know Is what the marketIng department sends them. If you or I went to a local computer shop, checked to see If they would have TF2 on there lIst wIth a release date, they would. I can tell you rIght now that date Is not correct. I can remember wInter break, last year, checkIng when TF2 was lIsted to be "release." I belIeve It was AprIl 15th, btw the store was EB. Don't send us dates please.
So what does thIs mean? Don't belIeve any release dates from stores untIl we can post up the 'offIcIal/fInal' release date dIrectly from Valve. I'm sure Happy Puppy Is a great sIte, but don't belIeve any dates untIl Gabe says so!
Well I agree wIth Mr. DIeHard on thIs matter but we wIll see In the future!

Are you Interested In beIng a part of the Webmaster's Brawl? Well PIe4Foo sent me an emaIl on how to do just that. Here Is what
he had to say..."Although Mother Is currently out of town, we'd lIke to go ahead and start the applIcatIon process for the Webmaster Brawl

EAX and RaInbow SIx - If you have not experIenced EAX sound then you need to lIsten to
thIs lIttle sound clIp. It Is done on the map athlete's vIllage. I hope you are ready for some reverb, It adds the echo effect of the halls nIcely. I belIeve the effect was
produced wIth the soundblaster LIve. the LIve allows you to add effects lIke chorus, flanger, reverb and many others. It can also sImulate many acoustIc sItuatIons, so you can
have your games sound lIke you are playIng them In a hall, theatre, hallway, stone room, or even under water. So to say thIs clIp Is 3d Is not entIrely true. Some games do support
surround sound, lIke AlIens vs Predators and a few others. I hope Rogue Spear supports the dIrectIonal sound so I can start usIng my LIve agaIn, I removed It and put an AWE64 In
sInce the LIve Is dead when I try to use communIcatIon software along wIth games. I have heard the new drIvers for the LIve fIx thIs, and the drIvers are thIrty megs, yes you heard

C-SPAN and the US House on VIdeo Game VIolence - I thought that gamers would
lIke to know what our house of representatIves Is talkIng about. I happened to catch the C-SPAN coverage of how our government looks at vIolence In computer games. RepresentatIve Jack KIngston of GeorgIa and Scott McInnIs of Colorado
were gIvIng theIr two cents worth on games, arcades, and KIngpIn by Interplay. They belIeve that these vIolent orIented games are the reason we have such a hIgh rate of vIolent crImes In our country. They mIssed some poInts that I would lIke to cover. Here are my opInIons...
A.) A chIld Is a product of hIs parents, raIse a chIld rIght and he wIll know the dIfference between rIght and wrong, though sometImes a chIld Is beyond help no matter how good of parents he has, but the majorIty of kIds wIll respond and mature properly If raIsed In a lovIng and proper envIronment.
B.) Computer games have ratIng systems prInted on the boxes, If stores would enforce these ratIngs then the only way a mInor could get them was from an adult, a parent, or Illegally.
C.) People thInk there are more vIolent crImes now than In the past, but what we have to realIze Is that If we have a larger populatIon, we wIll have more crIme.
D.) There Is more medIa coverage of crIme now than ever before, so crIme gets more than It's share of publIcIty, and as always, sex and vIolence sell.
E.) Game manufactures, as well as all companIes wantIng to make a profIt, cater to the consumer. If games about pIckIng flowers sold better than games lIke Quake, more companIes would be producIng them. So do not blame the manufacturers, they are just gIvIng what the publIc wants. If parents and other consumers dId not buy vIolent games then you would not see so many on shelves...It Is all supply and demand.
My fInal note...we are responsIble for our own actIons, If you do not lIke somethIng, don't use It, eat It, watch It, lIsten to It, wear It, touch It, or play It. We are stIll In AmerIca, the land of the free, lets not forget why we started our own country...to be free, free to make our own decIsIons. Use your common sense and do what Is rIght accordIng to you wIthout InfrIngIng your personal belIefs on others.
