Which VIPS Program will work for you?


  • HOSTS (Help One Student To Succeed) Provides an hour a week of one-to-one academic structured mentoring/tutoring at Cesar Chavez Elementary School, Sweeney Elementary School, Ortiz Middle School, and Capital High School. Call Cardinal Rieger at 954-2067.

  • Wise Men and Women Los Sabios Provides caring friend mentors for 30 minutes a week for at-risk students in grades K-6 at Alvord Elementary School, Larragoite Elementary School, and Turquoise Trail Elementary School. Call Gene Weisfeld at 988-1611.

  • SAW (Success At Work) Provides teams of business volunteers to teach 3 to 5 one-hour classroom sessions on employability skills to 7th and 9th graders in the Santa Fe Public Schools. Call Fran Tenorio at 428-1303.

  • SFEAN (Santa Fe Education and Apprenticeship Network) Provides caring adult mentors for one hour a week for at-risk students in grades 6-12 at all middle, junior and senior high schools in the Santa Fe Public Schools. Call Gene Weisfeld at 474-9000.

  • Other Programs There are many other opportunities for volunteering in the Santa Fe Public Schools. Please specify the school you would like to make a difference in today. Call Cardinal Rieger at 954-2067. Specific School and/or Program.

  • require no planning on your part
  • provide all required materials
