Early Release Procedures for Inclement Weather

Procedure

1. An early release decision will be made by Administration between 11:00 and 11:30 am. But if weather deteriorates after this time,the Administrative team will make a decision between 1:00 and 1:30 P.M. If the Admin team finds need, they will have the buses pick up students earlier.
2. A memo will be faxed to each school, and an administrative secretary will call each school.
3. Local radio and television stations are faxed and called as soon as the decision for early release is announced.
4. Parents are asked not to call the schools during these times, except in an emergency. For information, parents may:

Note: In the event that there is no Early Release, but snow conditions continue to deteriorate, parents may pick up their child(ren) at their discretion, but dismissal for non-bus students will be at the normal time. As a safety precaution, buses will begin pick up of students approximately 15-30 minutes early. The extra time will allow drivers to proceed slowly and with caution.
