Welcoming message of the Ambassador of Mali to the United States of America

We are very proud to welcome you on this visit of the website of the Embassy of Mali in Washington. This site is the result of a sound team work between Malian resource individuals in the United States of America, in Canada and the Embassy in Washington. This collaboration is a powerful demonstration of the positive synergy that results from Malian commitment when personal altruistic implication is devoted to the achievement of projects of national interest.

With this site, we intend to provide the largest public with elements of practical information about Mali and means enabling anyone to strengthen a unique relationship with our country.

For that purpose, this site features ten section related to specific information about our country and its enormous potential.

"About the Embassy" is an outlook on the functioning of the Embassy that informs the public who should be contacted within the Chancellery depending on the information requested, be it the details of the Investment Code or the administrative service to be contacted in Bamako for any specific authorization.

The classic "Frequently Asked Questions" section is intended to provide answers to standard questions about Mali. To know more about the procedure for visa and passport release, interested people are invited to click on the corresponding link.

We also wish to promote deep popular knowledge of Mali and Malian people, and in that perspective we welcome anyone and everybody to browse through the "Geography and History" and "Art and Culture" pages. However, the best way of getting a real insight on a country is to plan a journey, a goal you will certainly fulfil by visiting the "Travel and Tourism" section.

"Politics and Institutions" presents the main features of Malian political evolution and state institutions.

Finally, the "Economy and Investment" section is here to submit information related to the official legislation and regulations governing Malian economic development. Targeting corporations or individuals who look forward to investing in and/or developing business opportunities with Mali, this page will soon come with a synthetic report on the relationships between Mali and Bretton-Woods Institutions to provide investors with independent assessment of our country's economic and financial progress.

This site is the product of good-willing individuals who decided to generously dedicate a part of their time to its implementation. They should be sincerely thanked here and encouraged in their commitment to the building of our democratic Mali. We firmly wish that their ranks grow larger to ensure that "fields bloom with hope and hearts thrill with trust", as proclaimed in the national anthem of our Republic.
