here are some tunes i cut while i lived in los angeles in the early nineties. these are hefty downloads - about four megs each.

Back in feb 1998, I was trying to get a handle on mp3 format. I encoded some songs at various bandwidths to test how well they download. I've used the YunaSoft mp3 Encoder on animal and alone. To listen I used to use Audioactive (http://www.audioactive.com/player/) because it used to be the only one that could do live streaming. Now i use winamp. Select the appropriate bandwidth.

  • For live stream, this works for me at the moment: Right-click on the 28.8 link, select "Copy link location", switch to Audioactive, select File:Open location, and paste link.
  • If you want uber-qualitat, right-click on the link and save to your local drive. Caution: the high-band stuff is burly - over 1 meg.

Update: I had to remove the high badwidth samples off the server - I was exceeding my disk space allotment I may be shopping for a new ISP once I cut more tunes.

  • Animal: I recorded this tune in Los Angeles at Kirk's house in 1992, I think.
  • Alone: I've started writing and recording again after a 3 year break. The results are pretty rough. What happened to my voice? Yikes!
  • Oh yeah, all songs copyright chris kelley 1998....
