AIR - one of the four creative elements, associated with the east and with the ritual wand

ALPENO - Guardian of the Eastern Portal between the Worlds

ARADIA - Queen of the Witches, a Holy Woman who lived in 14th century Italy who taught Witchcraft, protectress

BENANDANTI - 'good witches' who fought ritual battles over the fate of the harvest against the Malandanti

BOSCHETTO - a grove, Italian word for coven

CONGREGA - coven or group

EARTH - one of the four creative elements, associated with the north and with the ritual pentacle

ELEMENTALS - beings of the four elements of Creation: Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

FAMILAIR - any creature or spirit with which you establish a pyhchic rapport beneficial to both parties

FIRE - one of the four elements of Creation, associated with the south and with the ritual spirit blade

GRIGORI - Guardians of the portals between Worlds, also called the Watchers

LARE - ancestral Spirits, worshipped in home shrines

LASA - Spirits of the Old Ways. Protectors and helpers in the Spirit World and can be evoked for assistance

MAGA - sorceress

MAGIA - witchcraft

MAGO - magickian

MALANDANTI - 'evil witches' who fought ritual battles over the outcome of the harvest against the Benandanti

MALOCCHIO - the 'evil eye' or the 'overlook'

MEANA - Guardian of the Western Portal between the Worlds

NANTA BAG - designed to keep the wearer in harmony with the forces of Nature and serves as a carrier of the tools so that a Witch may perform Magick at any time. Contains miniature representations of the tools

NUMEN - consciousness or spirit within all things, gave power to the forms in Nature

SETTRANO - Guardian of the Western Portal between the Worlds

SPIRIT FLAME - a blue flame burned upon the altar, believed to be the living essence of the Gods and the Spirits of Old

STREGA - female witch

STREGHERIA - the religion of Italian Witches

STREGONE - male witch

TAGA - Guardian of the Northern Portal between the Worlds

TREGUA - term for Full Moon gatherings

TREGUENDA - term for the eight seasonal rites

VEGLIA - oral family history and traditions

VEGLIONE - Full Moon ceremony

WATER - one of the four creative elements associated with the west and with the ritual chalice
