The State Auditor's Office, the independent auditor for Texas state government, provides legislators, agency management, and the citizens of the State with information about the operations of state agencies and universities. Our goal is to enhance accountability by reviewing fiscal and management controls, efficiency and effectiveness, and legal compliance in state government. This information helps ensure the reliability of management and financial systems within the State.
The office also provides other services, such as designing and developing training for agency internal auditors and for staff members, giving advice to state agencies, providing expertise on technological issues, and taking leadership roles in government and professional organizations.
The office is
