Aims and Objectives TPF Forwarding Network is a worldwide association of independent freight forwarders who have joined together in a strategic alliance to effectively compete in todays global marketplace. To meet international shipping needs, TPF offers an extensive network of member offices each bringing their commitment to service and home market strength to the customer. The TPF Board of Directors consists of six (6) representatives - with no more than two from the same TPF geographic region of the world. The Board is elected by the membership and is equally distributed among Europe/ Africa, the Americas and Australia/Asia. Officers are elected to serve as President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Board guides the TPF organization in addressing the key issues facing independent freight forwarders and develops support services to enable the independent forwarder to effectively compete in the industry. TPF relies on the active involvement of members to create programs that meet the needs of TPF's diverse mix of members. TPF establishes project work groups to develop and research new service ideas in order to advise directors on the best options available for a specific project. Among the projects designed to meet the groups objective, TPF is currently undertaking the following activities:
TPF is a mutual benefit, nonprofit association, equally owned by its members and administered by an independent management firm. Board of Directors Jackson H. Daniel, TPF President International Forwarders, Inc.- Charleston, South Carolina, USA Jackson H. Daniel Jr., TPFs President, has over twenty-five years experience in international transportation. He is President of International Forwarders, Inc. Mr. Daniel has been elected to a second three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Maritime Association of the Port of Charleston, South Carolina, and has been thrice elected President of the Customs Brokers & Foreign Freight Forwarders Association of Charleston. He was instrumental in the development of the Port of Charlestons Orion computer system. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Masters Degree in Business Administration and from The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina, with a Bachelor Degree in Arts and Science. He is the recipient of the U.S. Armys Bronze Star Medal.
David Domek, TPF Treasurer/Secretary World Commerce Systems, Chicago, Illinois, USA David Domek, TPF's Treasurer/Secretary, joined World Commerce in 1988 as the Sales Manager. He was promoted to Vice President in 1991. Then purchased the Chicago Office in 1992 and became the President and sole shareholder. Currently he is on the board of directors for two other transportation related companies. He also belongs to, "The Presidents Forum" (a group of over 100 presidents of different no competing companies who work together to improve their respective business). He attended the University of Iowa and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Christopher Wood, TPF Director Wako Express - Kowloon, SAR (Hong Kong) Christopher Wood is the TPF Treasurer. Since 1983 he has been the Managing Director and a shareholder of Wako Express Hong Kong and since 1993 a Director and shareholder of Wako Express (China) with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Dalian and Tianjin. From 1969 to 1976 Mr. Wood was a Systems Engineer for IBM United Kingdom, and from 1977 to 1979 was an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has also been a lecturer on database security and integrity at universities in Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan. Between 1976 and 1980, he was a Computer Scientist for the IBM Scientific Center in Los Angeles. Mr. Wood received a 1st Class Honours B.Sc., ARCS in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College, London University and a D Phil Theoretical Physics from Balliol College, Oxford. He is a member of The Hong Kong Australian Chamber of Commerce.
Thomas Manigk, TPF Director Kopf & Lübben - Bremen, Germany Thomas Manigk is a TPF Director. Mr. Manigk has been Managing Director and shareholder of Kopf & Lübben GmbH since January 1998 overseeing offices in Bremen, Hamburg and Rotterdam. He began his career in the freight forwarding industry ten years ago with an internship at a large German multinational freight forwarder in South Africa. After having held various senior positions within that company, Mr. Manigk was transferred to their global head office in Bremen, Germany. In 1995, he joined Kopf & Lübben GmbH as a director. Mr. Manigk studied Fine Art and History of Art at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa and, in 1985, he earned his National Diploma in Clearing (Brokerage) & Forwarding Administration. Pompeyo F. Eceiza, TPF Director Eceiza SA- Barcelona, Spain
Pompeyo F. Eceiza is a TPF Director. Mr. Eceiza joined Eceiza S.A., based in Barcelona, Spain, in 1979 as a telephone operator and customs formalities manager. In 1986, he moved to the firms customs clearance-documentation department. In 1987 and 1988, he led the companys computer conversion and implementation program. He was named Assistant Managing Director in the freight-forwarding department in 1988 and promoted to the position of Overseas Managing Director the following year. He was made the General Sales Managing Director for the freight forwarding and customs broker department in 1990 and appointed Managing Director of the legal advice and consultancy department in 1991. Mr. Eceiza was named the Company Secretary and Assistant to the General Manager and President in 1993 and General Manager in 1995. He became a Licensed Customs Broker in 1984 and between 1985 and 1987 received licenses as a freight forwarder, international hauler, inland hauler and warehouse operator and as a lawyer specializing in customs and international transport. He also has IATA and Air Cargo Dangerous Goods degrees. Eddie Chen, TPF Director Mercury International - Taipei, Taiwan (ROC)
Eddie Chen, is a TPF Director and has been the President of Mercury International Transport Co. LTD since 1986. He initiated his career in the Freight Industry in 1981 with OOCL Shipping Industry and later moved on to Universal Air Freight Company as Manager. He has full experience in both Air Freight and Sea Freight. Mercury International has been part of the TPF Forwarding Network since it was established. |
